In 2017 I was hired to work a festival that had some infrastructure issues. It was a friend of mine who had invested in Fyre media who took me on a team he assembled to try to save his investment. The idea was to create festival art and infrastructure for an event that was lacking. Every day for three weeks I created driftwood sculptures, pallet wood tiki bars, vendor booths, signage, and swingsets off the shoreline of the beach. The pentagon swingset has been featured in a variety of media surrounding the Fyre Festival as well as various travel magazines about Great Exuma. It was in icon for instagram influencers. Despite the massive public catastrophy that event ended up becoming, working at Fyre was actually a catalyst experience for me in my career making art for the event industry.
